After bagging two scholarships Puja, in 2000, launched her label pujaarya as an attempt to rejuvenate Indian handicraft, especially hand block printing. She has adopted a family of printers with whose expertise she continually experiments with printing which is also the labels USP. This season, her collection, 90% heart 10% Cotton, draws from bohemian and hippie influences and brings to ramp a distinctly folklore look with tent dresses, neck-knotted blouses in soft chiffon, cropped embroidered jackets, tunics and fluffy patchwork skirts in colours such as chocolate brown, deep burgundy, bright yellow, chutney green with accents of pink, green and black. As always the collection focuses on block printing with hippie border prints and geometrics like stripes and polka dots. The embroidery has distinct boho-chic sensibility colourful, almost bordering on exotic.
